Barbara Luider

Marion Precision Tool, Inc

MRMA Board Member

Barbara, was a Registered Nurse for 29 years and a Certified Nursing Case Manager.  Throughout her career she has been actively involved in Quality Assurance and Education as a direct patient care nurse, Performance Improvement Manager, and Certified Case Manager.  She has always had a love for teaching students, nurses, and patients about health management, Nursing Practice, and the Quality Process.  She has a heart for service and is very devoted to her family, friends, and her faith.

As a “Displaced Nurse”, Barbara works full-time in her family business, Marion Precision Tool Inc (MPT) as its President and Quality Manager.  Relying on her prior hospital and home health experience maintaining certification by the healthcare Accrediting Body JCAHO, she developed the Quality Management System and Processes that helped Marion Precision Tool attain accreditation by ISO9001:2015 and AS9100D back in 2019.  For a machine shop and local manufacturer having no more than 15 employees, an ISO and AS certification is an achievement of rather limited precedent.

In the family business Barbara is joined by her husband, Ed Luider, a life-time machinist whose machining capabilities and engineering mindset she says “are incredible and always amaze” her.

Barbara and her husband, Ed joined the Mid-Florida Regional Manufacturing Association (MRMA) in May 2022 to be more involved in their community with like-minded business owners. They are active members of MRMA and are occasionally represented by their son, Matthew Luider, who has worked in the family business since the age of 14 and functions as MPT’s Production Manager.  Matt, Barbara says, has the same “art of machining mind” as his dad does, and is learning to take over the business.

Barbara represents Marion Precision Tool, Inc on MRMA’s Board of Directors, Education Committee, Quality, Safety, and Leadership Forums.
